If you want to be budgeting then you are potentially familiar with a good amount of the traditional methods: finding coupons, comparison shopping, buying in bulk, etc. Those methods are groovy but they are only sometimes the most practical or even the best way to save money. Any adept shopper knows that for best results you must use EVERY tool at your disposal. That is why I would like to inform you about a new solution most of you have statistically likely never heard of.
In the last few years the growth of the internet has really shaken up the marketing world. One large difference has been the availability of “affiliate programs” which for those who don’t know is simply a payment given to the affiliate marketer when she is directly responsible for a sale or referral. These programs are everywhere now, might be the most well known is the Amazon Program but even little online shops have these setup now.
Now plenty of of you are already putting two and two together and may be wondering what will happen if you signed up as an affiliate and ordered a product from yourself… As you would expect the incentive in this case is a savings on the product. Now, the problem is that in lots of cases this would not be worth your time because the amount of effort that goes into signing up for one of these programs will generally not be worthwhile if you just plan on purchasing ONE thing. Incidentally, some affiliate programs support “self-purchasing” while others frown on it… and may even ban you from their program.
I would not endorse going around and signing up for each individual affiliate program for every seller that you usually shop at. But, I wouldn’t be writing this if I did not have something sincerely interesting to share with you all.
Now this is where the Blastoff Mall comes in. Blastoff Network is a new site that launched in October that is made for saving money shopping online. You join for FREE and then can browse through the Blastoff network mall which contains links to over 300 different online stores (at the time of writing, there are probably even more now) including Makari , iTunes, Target, Starbucks, and Barnes & Nobles. Each of them labeled with a certain commission % which you are entitled to.
I have not looked at each individual merchant but I have checked some of them and can confirm that essentially what Blastoff Network has succeeded in doing is create a “meta-affiliate” program where they signup to lots of individual affiliate programs–then you can shop through any of their “partners” and get a chunk of the commission. When you purchase something you likely get roughly 30% of the reward paid to Blastoff for your purchase. You don’t have to sign up for the program first which can often take hours or more and approval is never guaranteed. They make it so simple and easy–they definitely deserve the 30 percent or so of the payoff that they actually keep.
It is a free, easy, accessible way to save money doing the shopping you would potentially do anyways. Plus if you use the link in the Blastoff Mall it takes you directly to the store’s official website where you can use any discounts you have to save even more.
But wait? that’s only 60 percent of the incentive, what about the remainder?! I’ll get to that. In a good marketing move Blastoff has decided to create an affiliate program of their own. By introducing people to Blastoff you are entitled to a small portion of the payments earned when they purchase something up to ten levels deep. This is taken from that remaining portion of incentive and is divided evenly among the 10 people in that person’s invite history. Which works out to be 1/10 of the 30-40% of commission that is not given to the original buyer and Blastoff Network.
These “mini-payment” individually don’t seem like a lot and for lots of purchases will be less than 1.00, but that’s dinero you would not have had otherwise and even if you only introduce a handful of people if they each introduce a couple people, the amount of people in your network that you are entitled to earn payoffs from expands fairly quick. For example if you invite 3 people and they each introduce three people when you get down to level 10 you have 3^10 people which is 59,049 people who may buy something and you would get a incentive, pretty great huh?
I could see this really getting big and people who sign up early will obviously have the most effective opportunity because if your friend does it before you then you wont get any of the payment when they buy something.
The thing is that I would suggest this to people even if there were no rewards paid unless you personally bought a product yourself because when it comes down to it is discount, just like using a coupon or buying something on sale. The only difference is that you can do it on top of both of those solutions. What it really boils down to is this: it is free it can save you money… why not do it?
That being said, they do payout rewards based on what people who you introduce buy… So, instead of going to the main sign up page and give that extra moolah to Blastoff Network, sign up using my profile page so I get the credit. I really would appreciate it!! ![]()
