If you need to be saving money then you are likely familiar with most of the typical systems: finding coupons, comparison shopping, buying in bulk, etc. Those techniques are nifty but they are not always the most practical or even the best way to save loot. Any adept shopper knows that for ultimate results you must use ALL the tools at your disposal. That is why I would like to introduce you to a new solution most of you have might be never heard of.
In the last few years the growth of the internet has really shaken up the marketing world. One immense difference has been the popularity of “affiliate programs” which for those who are unaware is basically a commission given to the affiliate when he is sends a sale. These programs are everywhere now, likely the most well known is the Amazon Affiliate Program but even small businesses have these setup now.
Now some of you are already putting two and two together and may be asking what will happen if you signed up as an affiliate and purchased something from yourself… As you might guess the incentive in this case amounts to a savings on the product. But, the problem is that in some cases this would not be profitable because the amount of work that goes into joining one of these programs will generally not be worthwhile if you just plan on purchasing ONE thing. Incidentally, some affiliate programs support buying from yourself while others frown on it… and may even kick you out of their program.
I wouldn’t suggest going around and signing up for each individual affiliate program for every business that you typically buy from. Though, I would not be writing this if I did not have something sincerely cool to share with you all.
Here is where the Blastoff Mall comes in. Blastoff Network is a new site that launched in October that is perfect for saving money shopping online. You signup for a FREE account and then can browse through the Blastoff network mall which contains links to over 300 different online stores (at the time of writing, there are probably even more now) including HP Home , iTunes, Target, Starbucks, and Barnes & Nobles. Each of them marked with a certain incentive % which you are entitled to.
I haven’t looked at each individual seller but I have checked most of them and can say that in a nutshell what Blastoff Communications has succeeded in doing is create a “meta-affiliate” program where they signup to some unique affiliate programs–then you can shop through any of their “partners” and get a chunk of the commission. When you purchase an item you might be get around 30% of the incentive paid to Blastoff for your purchase. You don’t have to sign up for the program first which can often take days or more and approval is never guaranteed. They make it so simple and easy–they definitely deserve the 30 percent or so of the commission that they actually keep.
It is a free, easy, accessible way to save money doing the shopping you would might do regardless. In Addition if you use the link in the Blastoff Mall it takes you straight to the merchant’s actual site where you can use any savings coupons you have to save even more.
But hold on? that’s just 60 percent of the commission, what about the remainder?! I’ll get to that. In a spectacular marketing move Blastoff has decided to make an affiliate program of their own. By introducing people to Blastoff you are given a small portion of the incentives earned when they buy something up to 10 levels deep. This is taken from that remaining portion of reward and is divided evenly among the ten people in that person’s invite chain. Which works out to be 1/10 of the 30-40% of payment that is not given to the first buyer and Blastoff Network.
These “mini-incentive” by themselves don’t seem like a lot and for lots of purchases will be less than 1.00, but that’s scratch you would not have had otherwise and even if you only introduce a handful of people if they each invite a couple people, the amount of people in your network that you are entitled to earn incentives from expands extremely radidly. For example if you invite 3 people and they each invite three people by the time you get down to level 10 you have 3^10 people which is 59,049 people who might buy something and you would get a reward, pretty smashing huh?
I could see this seriously taking off and people who adopt early will obviously have the ultimate opportunity because if your friend does it before you then you wont receive any of the reward when they buy something.
The thing is that I would recommend this to people even if there were no payoffs paid unless you personally bought a product yourself because in the end it is discount, just like using a coupon or buying something on sale. The only difference is that you can use it in addition to both of those solutions. What it really boils down to is this: it is free it can save you money… why not do it?
That being said, they do payout payments based on what people who you introduce buy… So, rather than go to the main sign up page and let that extra loot to Blastoff Network, sign up using my profile page so I get the credit. I really would appreciate it!! ![]()
